Simranjit Kaur: In Pursuit of Success
Lakshya, an organization which helps the needy and talented athletes all around the country, recognized the burgeoning raw talent of Simranjit and took her in. Lakshya provided her with all the equipment and necessary medications required for the sport.It also provided her with best coaching facility so that she could use her talent to its fullest. With a couple of years of hard work and dedication, Simranjit Kaur started her journey towards success, winning bouts after bouts.
Lakshya proudly presents Simranjit’s achievements:
- Won the title of “BEST BOXER” at National Women's Boxing Championship at the Reserve Police Lines Hall.
- Won the title of “BEST BOXER” at National Women's Boxing Championship at the Reserve Police Lines Hall.
- Won a Gold medal in Lightweight Elite Women National Championship, Haridwar.
- She is selected for European Women's Youth and Junior Championships, Turkey.
- She is already being considered for Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Simranjit Kaur was also trained by coach Khalid Hussain and her brother Harry Dhillon at Merridale Boxing Club in Wolverhampton. She came through a selection camp at the English Institute of Sport. The selectors commented on her footwork, movement and the strength she has. Hussain compliments Simranjit by saying, "She is an aggressive boxer who is always on the front foot, even if you peg her back she’ll keep coming forward. She’s quick, tall and rangy and with a good jab". Hussain also believes Kaur can one day achieve her goal of boxing at Olympic Games. She currently trains at Senior National Camp in IG Stadium, New Delhi and manages her diet with the Scholarships from University and College.
She is being sponsored by Sony Pictures Network and Lakshya. They overlook all of her expenses of training and traveling. Lakshya is proud of her achievements and wishes her with ample of good luck for her future.
